Israel is a biblical land where a long and rich history and tradition continue to thrive. At the same time, it is a start-up nation that has achieved world-leading innovation through a spirit of challenge in a demanding environment.

Since the establishment of diplomatic relations in 1962, the Republic of Korea and Israel have built steadfast, amicable, and cooperative relations based on shared values of democracy and a market economy.

Amid rapidly changing international dynamics, our Embassy will make every effort to further expand and deepen cooperation between the two countries, in line with the Korean Government’s SHINE Initiative for the Middle East.

As a core focus, we will work to maximize synergies in innovation. The Korea–Israel Free Trade Agreement, which entered into force in 2022, has become a fast track for economic cooperation between our two countries. Against this backdrop, we will promote a mutually beneficial ecosystem by combining Israel’s exceptional strengths in core technologies with the Republic of Korea’s world-class manufacturing capabilities across advanced fields, including AI, quantum technologies, semiconductors, future mobility, and defense.

Furthermore, we will make concerted diplomatic efforts to promote stability and harmony on the Korean Peninsula and in the Middle East. We will continue close bilateral communication, contributing to the easing of regional tensions, the advancement of peace, and support for humanitarian assistance and reconstruction, as a responsible global power. At the same time, we will devote our efforts to building cultural bridges grounded in deeper mutual understanding and empathy, bringing the people of our two countries closer together.

Last but not least, we will broaden networks and educational opportunities for future generations. We will invigorate exchanges among industry, academia, and research institutions in both countries, while expanding opportunities for future generations to learn and grow together through hands-on experiences in each other’s innovation ecosystems. This will serve as a strong foundation underpinning relations between our two countries.

Above all, the foremost mission of our Embassy is to safeguard the lives and safety of the people of the Republic of Korea. Since its establishment in 1993, our Embassy has devoted itself to ensuring the safety of Korean nationals and visitors in Israel, while supporting Korean businesses and protecting their interests. In this regard, we will continue to serve as an open and accessible mission for our citizens, providing on-the-ground services with a constant state of readiness, 24 hours a day.
